Q1. After I have installed the ColorChecker Passport Photo software on my computer I can’t find the Plug-in in Lightroom to create a profile.

Q2. I have installed the ColorChecker Passport software on my computer but when in Lightroom I select File > Export with Preset, I don’t see the ColorChecker Passport in the list of available options.

A – Macintosh Computers (scroll down document for Windows PC instructions).

Lightroom Plug in Not Available on Macintosh Computer.

Sometimes when installed the ColorChecker plugin is not linked correctly within the Lightroom plugin system. If you have installed the plug-in on your Mac and the plug-in is not available please follow the instructions below.

To set up the plugin manually try the following.

1. Open Lightroom and click File > Plug-in Manager

2. This will show you all the plug-ins on your system.

3. If the ColorChecker Passport is listed select it and make sure it is enabled. If the plug-in is disabled enable it and restart Lightroom. This then should work OK.

4. If the plugin is not listed you will have to install it manually.

5. Click File > Plugin Manager and click the ‘Add’ button.

In the pop up window browse to:

Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Lightroom > Modules

If the ‘Modules’ folder is missing please use the instructions in the ‘Modules Folder Not Available on a Macintosh computer section below to add the folder manually*.

6. In the Modules folder you should see the “XRiteColorCheckerPassport.lrplugin” plugin click on it and then click “Add Plug-in”

7. Restart Lightroom and it should now run correctly.

* Modules Folder Not Available on Macintosh Computer.

ColorChecker Passport software installer includes the Lightroom plugin and will automatically place the plugin in the correct folder. However, on some systems the Plugin does not install correctly due to a recent OS update or other software conflicting with the Plugin. If you have noticed that the Plugin is not appearing in Lightroom after install, we advise you do the following:

Download the latest version of the Plugin by clicking click here.

Create a folder named Modules at the following path…

Mac: User Name > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Lightroom > Modules

Next, unzip the downloaded file, and place the contents into the Modules folder that you have just created.

Once the ‘Modules’ folder is created and populated with the correct files continue with setting the plug-in manually (step 1 to 6 above).

A – Windows Computers

Lightroom Plug-in Not Available on Windows PC

Sometimes when installed the ColorChecker plugin is not linked correctly within the Lightroom plugin system. If you have installed the plug-in on your Windows PC and the plug-in is not available please follow the instructions below.

7. Restart Lightroom and it should now run correctly.
